Heres are some horrible little facts that have been widely ignored.
1.3 billion people have no access to drinkable water. By 2040 half the worlds
population will not have safe water to drink.
If America continues to buy up world corn surpluses to make fuel worldwide
famine will increase by 200 percent in 10 years. Food riots have already
happened in 8 third world nations that depend on cornbread for daily calorie
needs.
There is no reason to use corn to make ethanol unless you intend to drink it.
Faster growing starch producing plants could be used to make more ethanol in
less time without endangering world food reserves. The use of such plants is
illegal.
Medicare pays for viagra but not birth control pills or condoms.
The government does not consider studies of marijuana as valid unless it was
grown for the purpose of making rope.
Pigs raised for medical harvesting of heart valves and thyroid glands are
destroyed as medical waste.
Finally, it is against the law to lie to anyone on the phone claiming to be a
federal investigator. (Ask Martha Stewart.)
In Kansas a law reads: “When trains meet at a
crossing, both shall come to a full stop and neither
shall proceed until the other has gone.”
In Cleveland, Ohio you need a hunting permit to trap or kill mice.
I personally blame it all on a lack of asylums.

Yep... technology is an incredible, useful, and evolving tool with a path
that's had to predict. Not long ago, nobody would have thought Ray Kurzweil
could teleport himself from his office (in MA, I believe) to a stage in Tucson
to give a lecture and answer questions while looking at you face-to-face! But
he did it.

Kurzweil is an amazing futurist focusing on technology that seems straight out
of sci-fi.

Check his site at www.kurzweilai.net ... could blow your mind!
