Subject: MFP and 6 newly freed!
Maryland ADAPT is pleased to announce that six newly freed people have just
transitioned into the community from nursing facilities to their homes using
the CMS Money Follows the Person Rebalancing Demonstration grant and
Maryland's Money Follows the Individual Act of 2003. We are very excited that
the process looks like it is already working! Several of the Operational
Protocol mechanisms are not in place yet but the state is not holding up
anyone who is ready to go until everything in the OP is up and running.
Congratulations to Maryland's Disability Community and to the state's MFP
project director! (a former ILC peer-to-peer coordinator)
