What happened to hold your head high, smile first, and ask for help when you
need to? And please don’t forget to say thank you! That message had a lot of
truth in it, but the methodology was enough to turn anyone off. I can’t do
any of the things that he wants to do, opening doors, feeding myself, get in
a car when I want to and go wherever I want to go, but let’s face it-life is
not fair, and anyone who thinks it is had better look deep inside and figure
out what they want. I get out anytime I can, and sometimes it’s by myself. I
go shopping at Home Depot-my favorite place-and I go to the service desk and
ask for someone to help me. Usually it is one of the young people that are
just learning the ropes, and they all seem to enjoy spending the time with
me and looking for what I need. Grocery stores are different matter-I let my
daughter do my shopping because I never did like grocery shopping and she
does J

I hate shopping for clothes, but the clerks are always helpful, and often
find things in the back room, marked down, and bring them out for me. Take
what you have, make the best of it, and ask for help when necessary. Most on
this board does or they probably would not be on this board. Joan
