I had AAA for many years, but after switching to Geico they had the same service as part of the insurance package.
It does not have some of the bells and whistles, but the road services are about the same. The guy was nice and said I could stay in the van while he towed it. If I had to I would, but it was 113 degrees outside. It would be a lot hotter than that inside with no air-conditioning. Right now the van's in the shop. They just called and said they wanted to keep it until Monday to do more testing. They can't find the problem. On the way home from a chair repair at Apria, a truck in front of us lost these large aluminum strips from the back of his truck. We ran over them, with 1 getting stuck under us. We pulled over at the next exit at a store and a young man helped get it out from under the van. I am not sure if the van pooping out 40 minutes later is connected. They checked all the regular things, but can't find it. Greg _____ AAA, don't leave home without it! Merrill _____ Anyone know of a taxi service in the Phoenix area for those in chairs? I found a few, but they need 24 hour notice. I'm trying to find one I can use in an emergency. Our van had some troubles and I was almost stuck, but it started back up an hour latter just as the tow truck showed up. He followed us home but it died again just 2 blocks from home. I had a card for a wheelchair taxi service, but when I called they said. "Oh know, we can't do it today". I know there was 1 a few years ago that I used; I'd like to keep their number in my wallet just incase I need it someday. Thanks, Greg
