Quadius,

Yes, Vista Speech Recognition definitely provides the ability to move the
mouse vocally. It uses mousegrid commands just like NaturallySpeaking. It
also has a great feature called "show numbers." You say the command "show
numbers" and a translucent number is displayed on top of every clickable
item on the screen. To select an item you say "click 5" or whichever
numbered item you wish to click. I have found Vista Speech Recognition at
least equal to NaturallySpeaking with regard to mouse control by voice.

I have no information regarding Macs and NaturallySpeaking.

Keep in mind that if you are going to purchase a new computer and you decide
to stick with a Windows based PC, I definitely advise getting Vista, and if
you do, Speech Recognition comes with Vista free of charge, so it will at
least be worth a try.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Windows Vista voice program

I am considering getting a new computer within the next few months and I am
thinking about trying the Vista voice recognition software. For those of
you who have switched from Dragon NaturallySpeaking to the Vista program,
does the program offer the ability to move the mouse vocally? Is it almost
as efficient as Dragon NaturallySpeaking? I would love to hear your input.

I am also considering switching over to a Macintosh. I have heard that
Dragon NaturallySpeaking now has software for the Macs, but I have found
very little online about this product. I don't know how much it cost or
whether it is as good as the normal version. I think it would be nice to go
over to a system which is much more stable. It would be a big change for
me, but what the heck.
