Thanks Wheel! 20 years of quad-life, and very happy to be here to tell about it!

It was 20 years ago today,
the doctor came into say,
he will never run again or play,
I said- may I introduce to you,
Timmy don't roll that way,
I'll leave this place in style,
and kick your ass with a smile.

have anything to do with the sweet little red corvette?

Yes, Billy--a whole bunch of us have the August Anniversaries, mine was this
past Sunday Aug-3rd.  11 years. In the early going, I spent 1 month with
Pneumonia on a ventalator in ICU.... then got transfered to rehab and fought
for another 3 weeks to wean off of Oxygen. ( Had a Treach )  you are so
right---it is sweet to breath on ones own again, I'll never forget those early
days.

I have chosen not to think too much about the anniversary of my accident, but I
have decided to embrace the first time I was able to breathe for 24 hours
without any ventilator assistance.
I was shooting for my birthday, August 4, but I managed to breathe on my own
for the entire day on August 6 (today) 13 years ago.  In fact, I have only been
put on a ventilator once since then to aid me in getting out secretions.  Well,
I do stuck on the end of a ventilator hose daily in order to get some
medication into my lungs, but I didn't start doing that until February 2007.
I had planned on doing something today, but that didn't work out.  Tomorrow I
will definitely doing something worthwhile.
