Dear Mike's sister, please do not use a heat lamp on a wound. The dangers far outweigh the advantages. It has to be watched all the time if it is used. To help the wound dry, take an 8 inch plastic fan from k-mart or anyplace, put cheesecloth around it and set it up under the sheet circulating the same air and trapping the dust it may churn up. If you insist on a heat lamp use an adjustable desk lamp and don't use anything bigger than a 60watt bulb from 18 inches. If your heating up his room, well, I use one of those cheap oil filled radiators with a cheap fan blowing air at it. When I have a wound I usually set the same heater where it is close enough to warm my wound a bit and speed up any drying processes I might be trying. Best wishes with whatever you heat, john
