I'm finding that as time passes, many things are getting harder for me to
do. I used to stand to transfer and used a manual chair for the 1st 38 years
of this 'quad' thing. Now I'm electric - and my fingers and shoulders feel
much better but getting dressed is much harder now as is getting into bed. I
think I know where this all is going and I don't like it at all. I made a
bad transfer a few years ago and heard something down under 'crunch'. As it
turns out, it was my urethra which then leaked into my perineum and within
days
I had a uti that nearly killed me. I now take all my transfers very
carefully and slowly making sure I don't goof up. I come down my van ramp
backwards so I don't kiss the driveway - again, and I always have my cell
phone
with me just in case. In our cases, an ounce of prevention is definitely
worth
a ton of cure!! Be careful out there.
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
