Trying to get cable laid where they use utility poles are most difficult as telephone, cable and other use it. Trees and foil age is a major issue and here the tree trimmers can cut anything within 10 feet of a utility line. Even if it means cutting back a major hybrid or fruit producing tree. I've heard of more then one story of tree trimmers being chased off by rifle/gun totting residents and land owners, because they felt the trimmers pruned the foil age too much. Then there are those stories of tree climbing poison ivy and wasps nests. They who remain home should always alert their power and energy departments and providers if they are wheelchair users and vent or special needs customers. It becomes a matter of record so that when you call they already know that it will be an urgent matter. Best Wishes In a message dated 2/10/2009 2:11:07 P.M. I may be wrong, because I don't really know that much about electricity, but the majority of problems in my area seem to be the result of trees falling on power lines or the polls himself failing. There are always transformers and other problems which occur periodically, but much of this can be ameliorated by upgrading the power grid. I don't know if they have the same program everywhere in the country, but here we are required by law to call in and have someone come out to delineate where all the lines are very on our property when we make modifications to our land. Not everyone does it, but I plan on doing it whenever I plant something new. It would be really expensive if I cut a line while I had a Bush replaced. Hopefully my comments didn't offend anyone.
