Economic Stimulus: Documenting Impact
The Obama administration has asked NSCIA and other leading consumer
organizations representing people with disabilities to help identify persons
with a
disability that have gone to work or been rehired as a result of the economic
recovery plan. For example, a company hiring as a result of money they
receive, or plan to receive. If you, or someone you know of, fits this
description, please email [email protected]_
(mailto:[email protected])
with a short summary and contact information for the person being hired.

Did You Know?
….The _NSCIA Insurance Guide_ (http://www.spinalcord.org/news.php?dep=32) is
a valuable overview of health insurance options for the person who has
experienced a spinal cord injury and his or her family. It gives a basic
overview
of information that an individual needs to know to become a more enlightened
consumer of health insurance. This is particularly important for those with
new spinal cord injuries requiring inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation
and therapies. [_full story_

This Spring Get What You Need and Give Back to the SCI Community at the Same
Time
Spring is just around the corner, and that means more outdoor activity as
the days turn warmer. Think about a Mobility Under Seat Organizer or Power
Chair Backpack from _Case Logic Accessories_
(http://yhst-63753354468879.stores.yahoo.net/accalo.html) . As a handy way to
carry those warm weather extras
like an extra water bottle or two, sunscreen, or hand wipe. It’s also a good
idea to keep a small umbrella on you – You never know when the rain might
fall
in the spring! Or you might like to read something from NSCIA online store’s
_book section_ (http://yhst-63753354468879.stores.yahoo.net/books.html) on a
sunny day. And don’t forget to stay “fresh as a daisy” with _Sun Artisans
Odor Neutralizer_
(http://yhst-63753354468879.stores.yahoo.net/sun-artisans-odor-neutralizer.html)
, where 100% of the revenue generated by sales goes right
back into the SCI/D community.
Buy the products you need, and support the mission of NSCIA at the same
time. The NSCIA online store has a variety of products in categories of
healthcare, books and music, mobility and lifestyle. _Click here_

It’s official – President Barack Obama has taken office. As a person
involved in the disability community, what are your thoughts?
We are headed in the right direction – I’m optimistic about the new
administration!
This is a mess. I fear for the disability community’s future.
It’s too soon to tell.
