Too funny Dave. What is even funnier is that some people would probably
think that that would be my response! I remember when able bodied people
used to have that question for me in one way or another and I would always
take offense to it because what is the alternative? Duh!

I am a Dean Koontz fan and I am listening to one of his books again (great
narrator) since it has been eight years or longer since I listened to it the
first time and it is one of his better books (*Midnight*).

Anyway, the FBI character has that attitude because of so many harsh things
that have happened in his life. REAL HARSH. But he lists 4 things that
keeps him going. The book was written in 1989 so one of the things was/is
*Goldie Hawn as an actress.
Then:

*Fear of Death.
*Good Mexican Food
and ummmm; right at this moment I forgot the fourth thing.

I can't remember from my first reading but he is telling another female
character in the book that during a brief time when he would have been
considered dead he actually had a near-death experience with the white light
THANG and everything and being able to see God, etc and she is trying to
drag it out of him why he (of all people) after experiencing that -- WOULD
fear death. So I am now waiting for his answer!

The other thing I like about Dean Koontz besides being a good author in my
opinion -- is that many times he includes characters with disabilities as
well as dogs as characters. *Midnight* is one good example.

Always keeping busy and always keeping your mind sharp have always been
things that have worked for me. Right now there are not enough hours in a
day to complete all that I want to do.
