I have also been working since my injury. After my C4-5 injury, I went back to school and got both by BA and Masters degree. I got my Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology and just got my license as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I had been an MFT Intern for 7 years, getting paid while I was working on getting the hours required to get licensed and then had to pass the 2 tests required for licensure. I just past the second test in February and became licensed. I work primarily as a child therapist and love my job. It's the perfect job for a quad! So yes you can definitely work and live a somewhat normal life as a quad. Plus, there's lots of services to help get people with disabilities out working again. I work part time due to severe chronic, nerve pain on top of being a quad, but just working part-time is very rewarding and makes my life much fuller.
