Purchase a Bahamian Aloe plant and cut off the leaves as needed to bathe the
wound in thick amounts of the viscous ointment that squeezes out.
Be sure the wound is clean and debrieded befor using it.
Get a low air loss mattress. University studies over the past 25 years have
proven this is the only type of mattress that proactively speeds healing.
If you have a clean wound that tests negative for infections, why can't doctors
give you cortizone injections?
Oxygen speeds healing for obvious reasons.
Other ointments, Tarasil, or trypsin are both getting decent results among
quads so, they aren't covered by Medicare. The trick to trypsin is to use it in
very thin layers.
If your wheelchair did not cause the wound, why can't you get up? If it did
cause the wound, you need another wheelchair that fits you so it does not cause
wounds. I sure hope you're able to get out of bed soon. I'm so sorry to hear
your stranded there. Proof that time does stand still.

I wish you the very best, Merrill,
john

Subject: [QUAD-L] Healing Ointment

A referral for a good healing ointment is needed.  Several weeks ago someone on
this list was enthused about an ointment they used.  I have a pressure sore,
small but keeping me in bed which is just not healing.  Some recommendations
please.
