The rest are all horrible -- they are all verbal and abandoned me at crucial times. It's the worst it's ever been in 13 years. I'm worried that if I fire them, I'll have no one. I'm trapped. ----- Original Message ----- From: Eric W Rudd <mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, July 05, 2009 6:01 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] caregiver abuse man, if someone was abusing me, they'd be gone. guess it comes down to the definition of abuse....i'm thinking striking?....am i way off here? If someone is abusive, it will only increase. Whether it be physical, mental, or just neglect. I know we are kind of screwed in that area, hard to even fire a caregiver until you have a new one hired. I think if I had an abusive caregiver or thought there was a problem in some way and was scared of them. I would not call protective services first, I'd call the police. Once the police were involved, I'd think you would get better service from protective services. More help until you can find a new caregiver. But if there is even a worry about a caregiver, I'd get them out of there, then worry about what to do.. If you have, can you tell me what takes place from nine point afterword? Also, when interviewing new applications for live-in caregivers, what questions do you ask? Thanks, Nick
