That should read "Pushed to buy a cushion, not buy a question!" Silly
dictation software!! :-)

I never had pressure mapping until I developed a stage one pressure ulcer.
I didn't realize it at the time that it was being caused by my jeans. I sat
on a number of different cushions during the very simple procedure. It
turns out that the best cushion for me is the 2 inch piece of foam.

A RoHo showed my bottom to have very many red spots, same with the very
expensive gel cushions. You should move around or have the occupational
therapists move you around to see where/when pressure is occurring.

In answering the first post of this original question, my concern was the
person was being pushed to buy a question just because of a dealer
recommends the cushion. We all have different asses ;-)

As I've posted previously, I question the true value of pressure mapping.
Doesn't the process and mapping assume you will always be seated
(positioned) exactly the same way in your chair on your cushion each time?
It seems even a minor variance (perhaps 1") left, right, forward or backward
would effectively change the mapping. There may also be variances due to
types of clothing worn and changes in weight.

NEVER get a new cushion without being pressure mapped. If you have had no
skin issues with your current cushion why oh why would you want to risk a
breakdown with a cushion recommended by a DME supplier?
