That is so weird that you brought up or mentioned using *Vick's Vapor Rub*on nail fungus'. I had a thumbnail fungus way back in 1982 and my doctor told me that it just takes time to grow out (approximately a year) and that is what happened.
Strangely enough, about three - four years ago the *same* thumbnail got another fungus but apparently much worse because it did not grow out after a year and has not grown out yet and the nail is really really really thick. Then, on my ring finger of the same hand about five or six months ago - the same thing happened. But not as bad as my thumb. My thumb touches that nail all day long so it probably trans-pollinated a fungus. I recently switched doctors and at my first appointment I showed my two problem nails to the doctor for his opinion. He also told me that it takes a while for them to grow out or I could try *Vick's*. Or he could give me a pill but I don't want to go that route. I decided to look up using *Vick's*on nail fungus' and it says it works better on thinner nails. Especially a child's nails. So I decided to try and use it daily and religiously for several weeks. It did nothing to my tough thumbnail but it loosened the nail on my ring finger and it finally fell right off (the nail course!). It is now slowly growing out with a healthy nail. Halfway now! I may be stuck with the other one (my thumbnail) for life. Not on my priority list right now.
