You have to protect your skin for at least the next 6 months. It takes that
long for the healing of the flap to become stable.
They make jogging pants that unzip down the sides. They might offer some
protection to your skin while you transfer. They could be too slick, too.
Have you talked to an OT about your problem?

Best Wishes,
john

Subject: [QUAD-L] Roho Cushion-post flap surgery

Hello!
I'm C6-7 incomplete from an auto accident 38 years ago. I just had my first
minor flap surgery andcan't believe how long the recovery/rehab is! The dr.
recommended a Roho cushion and I'm having a tough time transferring from it
even using a transfer board. the dr. wants to avois shearing but I think that's
impossible. I need to transfer from bed to w/c to shower chair 'bare
bottomed'-anyideas or thoughts? I surely don't want to go thru all of the
rehab. etc that I just went thru and want to return to an independent of a life
as possible.
Thanks!
Tom
