You should've started earlier, Joan. LOL I started this "journey" 41 years
ago. I'm now 59. I come from long-lived people. My great-great grandfather
lived to be 92, my great grandfather lived to be 96, my grandfather lived to
98. My dad died at 70 because he smoked 3 packs a day. My mom lived to 93.
Looks like I may have another 30-35 years here.

  Subject: [QUAD-L] 19 years

Tomorrow will be 19 years, just where did the time go? I am now 70 ½-that
can't be true either. JIf I had a choice would I do it over again? Most
emphatically yes. I have three grandchildren I would not have seen otherwise,
one great granddaughter, a great granddaughter due in December, and a
granddaughter due in January.

What more can a grandma ask for?

I am not looking forward to some of the things that lie in the
future-probably more skin problems because of thinning skin-worse hearing that
I have now-right now my Some Timers Disease is OK, but maybe it will get worse
and I suppose I could find a bunch more.

I Am looking forward to some of the things that live in the future-new
grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching the others grow up and tackle
life as best they can, finishing my garden (probably not), enjoying the
greenhouse and fresh tomatoes in winter, staying involved in youth activities
(I love to see how children get comfortable with me in the wheelchair and only
think of me as a lady who uses a wheelchair to get around rather than a
disabled person), maybe writing a book-don't know who would read it but I might
enjoy writing it-, helping friends and family landscape their houses-I get the
fun part, designing it, they get the fun part of doing it-continue taking a
couple of college courses that interest me. OK, I guess I get it. My list as
much longer for things I want to do than it is for things I'm afraid of. So I
will continue on my merry way-probably not for another 19 years although my
mother lived until 91 after suffering a major stroke 19 years before, so who
knows what is my lifeline to be.

Glad I have this list to belong to-it is good to share with others in the
same boat.

  Joan
