Leg guards are side panels that protect your legs from side impacts when in tight turning areas. A bone bruise can be a severe problem. The guards may not be asthetically plesing but mine have taken some good hits that may have prevented some serious leg/foot injuries. The new TDX legs are extremely difficult to adjust yourself, or to have an aid adjust. Your DME has to do it and get it right. This afternoon my left leg adjustment stem simply fell loose as I was going though a parking lot. The foot and leg twisted back up under the chair as it came to a surprize immediate stop. I had to put my left foot on my right foot while my aid got the left leg out from under the chair. The piece of s**t is twisted and very probably no good for anything but spare parts. Since I can not feel I am waiting to see what bruises may appear. If my leg or foot are broken I'm seriously considering sueing the manufacturer. There is no excuse for it to simply vibrate apart while in use, not to mention how complex it is to adjust. My left leg is 4 inches shorter than my right leg. doctors have always been stunned that the bones at the knee didn't die. regardless of the pain it causes I still like the balance I get from it. I hope this story helps someone else to avoid the same problem.
