Yannik,
All of you guys have had really good ideas.

Someone on your suggested using Colloidal Silver. I have used that off and
on whenever I have had some symptoms of a UTI in the past. It does help.

  Dan,
I used to change mine every two weeks, but my urologist advised me to only
change it every four weeks. She thought changing the catheter to often
increases the likeliness of infection and also contributes to the recurrence
of bladder stones that I have suffered from in the past. I, however, have
found that changing the catheter every four weeks is not quite right for
me. I end up having bladder pain, spasms, and foul smelling urine if I wait
that long. So I have decided I am going to go back to every two or three
weeks.

I'm not able to use the silver coated catheters. It's probably difficult to
believe, but I have an allergic reaction to them. And because I'm able to
feel a lot of the pain which takes place in my bladder, this is definitely
not a good thing for me. On the plus side, being able to feel the majority
of the pain in my bladder has always given me a leg up when it comes to
identifying what's causing AD.

Ironically the only time I can't feel pain in my bladder is when I am in the
middle of bowel care. For some reason I am unable to feel if my bladder is
full or if there is any other problems in going on for at least an hour
after my bowel regimen.
