I was asked (privately) about my hand-cycle, so i thought i'd share my answer
with the list...

Its been so long since i got it i don't remember where. But no matter, because
its available lots of places! Here's a list from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=magneciser&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=2864673921&ref=pd_sl_11kppbbkc3_b

I paid about $200 for my "Chattanooga Magneciser" and i see its available on
Amazon for about $190 now. Looks like there are lots of other versions
available these days for lots cheaper. These are all similar to the Saratoga
table-cycle that i originally used in rehab
http://oasisllc.com/spanish/saratoga.htm but are a fraction of the price.

I use big C-clamps to secure it to a table and i have special gloves that i got
from Bike-On http://bike-on.com/product-list/handcycle-grips-pg75/ (the C-5
Handcycle gloves at top), which are expensive but work great. I also have a
real handcycle/tricycle that i also use them on and the quick release is very
handy for shifting, but they're probably overkill for stationary cycling. The
"Quad-Gloves" at Bike-On are probably sufficient (and i've seen another similar
version of gloves advertised in email on the quad-list ...you could look in the
email list archives, though i think the design and price were similar.
Actually, I used my Magneciser with the loops they came with for quite a while
after I first got it, until one loop broke ...but the gloves make it much, much
easier and more secure, so i get a better workout as a result (with less
aggravation too).

The exercise i get really makes a difference! It can be hard sometimes, but
when i push it gets easier. It definitely makes me feel better immediately,
each time, and has made me stronger. I can't exactly "work up a sweat", nor
does it significantly make me out of breath, but it gets my blood flowing, for
sure. Some days i'll do an hour or more, though it took a while to get up to
that. At first, just 5 minutes made my arms feel limp, so don't get
discouraged and overdo it.

I hope that helps!
