I saw the movie in 3-D and absolutely adored the film. The effects were so mesmerizing that I could see some people missing essential elements of the movie, but I don't know if I would pay the price to see it again in the theater. Renting the film at home later would probably be the best option.
If you're going to pay to see the film you need to see it in 3-D Even the out of focus things in the film were in three dimensional form. Purely a phenomenal movie.
