Lateral / Trunk Supports are very important. Even if you don't tip very much. I
didn't like using them, but after years of not having them,. my spine has
curved. Now I need one on my right side pushing my middle to the center and one
on my left pushing my left top towards center. Not only are the supports now
uncomfortable, but it screws up my shirt, bothers me under my arm, they have to
push with force now and sometimes one pops open then the other pushes me over.

If you start using them early, before your chest curves, you don't need them so
tight. Then they are more comfortable, they can be lower, wont screw up your
shirts, etc. Plus just safety. Before I had them, more than a few times I tip
over to the side and could not lean back up. Not fun when your out walking the
dog. I remember once sitting there leaning over hoping someone would jog/ride
by. Felt funny asking someone... Hey, can you tip me back up?
I've tipped forward even more often, so now I use my chest strap every time I
go out alone.
