My pain doc just got busted big time. Giving out prescriptions to dealers, in cahoots with a pharmacist, giving drugs to his family, insurance fraud, etc. The DEA came in and shut him down, seizing all the medical records. I spent all morning searching for a Pain doc who not only takes my insurance, but will prescribe MS-Contin. I'd find one who takes my insurance, but they wont prescribe MS or Oxy. I found a few who would, but they don't take my insurance. I finely found one, but it's not too close. It's surprising how many doctors will just not want to deal with the hassles of prescribing Oxy or MS-Contin. They will prescribe Vicodin, Fentanyhl, Codeine, etc. But Oxy and MS scare them off. They are not much different other than name. They can all be abused. Now I need to go to my doc and get a referral, the medical records he has, then to th hospital for the MRIs and x-rays. Then wait for the doc to review the records before I can get in. I hope it's not long or that he will give me a prescription to tide me over. My withdrawals would not be fun after being on them for 7 or so years.
