Quad-List members,
If you consider this Spam...please let me know and I promise to never make a
similar posting again. I just don't know how else to let you all know that I
will give any Quad-List member a 10% discount on any NoButtonsHeadset products.
Just enter the coupon code QUAD-LIST during checkout.
I currently have the Truly Hands-Free Bluetooth Cell Phone Headsets
(NoButtonsHeadset) and I am working on some more products...including a totally
Voice Controlled landline and a mouse control that you hold in your mouth and
bite to click (no wires or anything attached to it...it works wirelessly).
I am trying to keep the products as inexpensive as possible because my son is
Quadriplegic and I know assistive devices can be soooo expensive. But I am
spending lots on research and development right now and it is hard to recover
those expenses because the Quadriplegic population is relatively small. For
example, I recently found out that I have to send the adapted landline to the
FCC for certification (required for any electronic device that is to be used in
a home). It can cost up to $3000...still I will try to keep the prices well
below other devices that perform a similar function. My goal is to make them
better and less expensive than what is currently on the market. I also make a
commitment to excellent support....
I learn a lot from reading your posts and hopefully the 10% will give back a
little.

Hey Quadius
I posted this several times and for me and seems to be the cheapest
possible solution. I have now had my Sony Ericsson four yrs, and it is still
working. I just recently bought a new one on Ebay for $65.00. I wanted a
backup just in case my old one failed. I do use a Bluetooth, and recently have
used the BlueAnt Bluetooth for the last 18 months. It is now not working
correctly so I purchased A Jawbone-but it arrived DOA. They are sending me
replacement with no problems dealing with the company.
Here is what I use:
Sony Ericsson-here is linked to
http://catalog.ebay.com/Sony-Ericsson-W600-Walkman-Unlocked-/51469579?rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=1&_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_fln=1&_htch=1&_pcatid=11&_ssov=1&_tab=2&_trksid=p4295.c0.m282
Jabra A210-here is a link:
http://catalog.ebay.com/Jabra-A210-Bluetooth-Adapter-/82847006?_fifpts=1&_pcatid=619&_refkw=Jabra+a210&_trksid=p3286.c0.m271
And it requires an adapter from radio shack that costs about $3.00.
I purchased my Jabra one craigslist here in Reno for $10.00.
As I said, I do use a Bluetooth, and I also use AT&T because they have a
feature Called Voice Connect. Although I can easily just use my magic word to
open up the Sony and say call-and it will-utilizing the voice connect enables
me to call any number by just saying the numbers. So I can call any business
etc without having to program it into the cell phone.
I have stayed with a W600 because it has a glitch-if somebody calls and I
do not answer I cannot call out without erasing a missed the message
notification. This works well for me because I cannot inadvertently call
somebody when I'm in a noisy situation. I have only once or twice in four
years been unable to make a call when I needed it because the phone had hung up
and no one was around. All of the Sony Ericsson phone has made in the last 3
years are supposed to be able to use this system.
You should easily be able to use a headset. I don't want one because I
cannot reach up and adjust it if it becomes uncomfortable.
The entire system can be purchased for under $150 Max.
There's also the option:
http://nobuttonsheadset.com/index.php?main_page=index and
He has posted on here and seems to be very open to helping us need such
specialized equipment.
Hope that helps. It works for me, and I'm willing to put up with some
inconveniences such as dialing inadvertently to have the freedom to be out and
about by myself for hours.
