Hi Dan-- Yes they put me under anesthesia and were able to laser it all out,,
no
cutting. It was a very large size they said. It took a while and my doc even
had
them bring me conscious once just to ask if I was  doing OK and put me back
under very quickly  lol-- I guess he was just a bit worried about dysreflexia
or
something.        Dan **

Hi Dan,

I have a Supra Pubic also and like it. I use an 18" french but it clogs if I
don't change it at least every two weeks.

I also have bladder stones. How did they remove your large stone? Did they put
you under anesthesia? Did they have to cut you open?

At 12:45 PM 7/24/2010, Danny Hearn said something that elicited my response:

I have had a supra-pubic for ten years, before that we intermitton cathed every
6-8 hours for three years- I doubt our marriage would have lasted if I did not
get the supra-pubic--my wife and daughter were my only caregivers, they were
sick of intermitton cathing interupting all of our schedules. Me and my wife
both love it---I have used a 24 french now for all 10 years so far. My wife
changes it once a month--we just drain the urine at night and in the morning. I
always just use the large overnight bags and turn it in towards me on side of
my
chair. It causes me less infections than straight cathing did but with ANY
cathing there is infection risk.  Knock on wood--no infections for over a year
and a half now........since I had a large stone removed, things have gone
better
with that.. ( we do flush the supra-pubic once a month when we change it )
