Quadius,
I have owned the Kindle since they first came out. The new version is easier to use. Because I've been reading screens most of my working life, I find the Kindle is exceptionally easy to use and very quick to read. I'm a C5/6 and it takes longer for me to turn the page of a book than it does to read it. I don't know if the new work version addressed this problem but I find that the next page button is very sensitive and sometimes I skip one or two pages. There's a previous page button to navigate back. This is a minor drawback. I highly recommend getting a Kindle. Even if you don't buy books from Amazon there are plenty of free e-books available all over the web. Kindle has a program which allows you to read Kindle books on your computer. Oh, one other thing the "pages" of the books on the Kindle do not correspond with the pages in a book. They use location numbers as reference points.. I recommend using bookmarks to save locations within the books you're reading, even though the Kindle will open the book you are reading to the last page read. I'm thinking about buying the Kindle because I primarily just read books. If I want to read all the other items, I'll use my computer. My concern is that it would slide off my lap and hit the ground. I don't know how solid or shockproof they are. I'm not sure what you mean by 'hold with one hand.' The IPad is fairly light and thin, but it would depend on what kind of hand function you have. I was thinking about getting one, but I don't think I would be able to handle it with one hand. It is so very easy to use in bed. Bobbie
