If he is compassionate he would want you to tell him things if they bother you. You are old enough to decide if you want something. It's not his right to keep you from anything. I would be irate if someone put something out of my reach on purpose. It is almost cruel. Just let him know nicely. Say "Can you move that closer before you go. Please."
