I am classified a incomplete quad, C4C5. Based on my own personal experience I
am theorizing that in regard to spinal cord injury the pinched water hose
effect is much more common than currently believed. I believe that this does
not occur only at the injury sight but as a side effect it can result at the
base of the spine as well. My theory is that upon injury of the spinal cord the
nervous system in shock tries to retract back within itself and in the process
puts a pull on the muscle it’s embedded in. This can result in a vise like
effect on the nerves at the base of the spine given the joints and strong
muscles in that area, thus the pinched water hose effect. My supporting
evidence is myself and the notes I have from when that area finally really
opened up on me. I do not need the medical communities support in this respect
for myself as I have opened up there through my own relentless work. It is
thirty years since my injury and I am experiencing muscular change in all
quadrants, how much is yet to be known. I present this knowing there has to be
other spinal cord injured whose recovery is being restricted by this same
condition. Think what it could mean for both old and newly injured. A obvious
indicator, the knee bones appear torqued inward. I am approaching the point
were the evidence of this theory will be undeniable in my case. Botox
targeting what I am claiming specifically could prove effective. I am guessing
the muscles that rotate the hip and knee inward should be targeted. The botox
I received was not targeted based on this theory as the theory did not exist..
Knowing what ones trying to accomplish and having me available to consult about
my own experience pioneering my way through this should make it much easier
for those that might follow. Working up from a long downed nervous system is a
interesting experience to say the least. This is a cheap easy harmless thing to
run trials on or some of us can just try it for ourselves. At this point I am
not saying this is a cure however I personally am experiencing significant
physical benefit. I personally experienced two surges of nerve releases that
there was no mistaking for anything else. If more of us experience this the
medical community will have to raise there heads to it
How many spinal cord injured have these hidden inward spiral twists in the
limbs of there body and a lot of muscle pulled tight to there mid section?
Until nerves were released I was unaware of these conditions in me. What
percentage of the spinal cord injured would benefit from more open nerve
passages if the strong torque holding these twists was removed?
NOTES
Keep in mind that my notes will be bazar to the non spinal cord injured and
that my body has been locked in a contorted position for thirty years. It’s
taking some doing for muscles, joints and such to fire up, break loose, pull
out and adjust.
Pre July, 2010
About three years ago being 2006, 2007 while getting botox shots I made the
association between small stringy electrically charged pulls in my groin area
and muscles elsewhere in my body responding in some way. We had minimal success
achieving what we were targeting physically. Botox treatment was discontinued.
Looking back improvement may have come fast had we known what has been
revealed to me while working through this. Though unintended the botox I did
receive did start me on the slow path to were I am now. I continued to
intensely flex, stretch and work my groin area and these sensations inside me
that started while I was on botox have slowly progressed even without more
botox. I sensed inactive muscle activate from time to time but not much I could
really make use of. Not until late summer 2010 after the only two huge surges
of nerve releases came from my crotch area have things progressed internally to
were improvement is becoming externally evident. Useful exercise aids have been
a spring bar, a piece of PCV tubing between my thighs or knees, my cane as a
bar, lever or hook and my stand at stretching bars.
Mid July 2010
A big muscle in my back started to move. I got a big surge of nerves releasing
causing muscles throughout my torso to very quickly completely move to new
positions, some seemed to unravel, some seemed to untangle, some seemed to take
on new shapes. Previously I could not actually feel these muscles.
Mid August 2010
I got my second and latest big surge of nerves being released. My right hip and
knee seemed to release somewhat especially the inward torque at the knee. There
was a surge of muscles in my legs doing the same thing the muscles in my torso
did in mid July. There were also sensations of webby membranes and elastic like
cords. I would find myself feeling tight places that I had little sense of
tightness prior.
Late August 2010
I got the sensation that the whole mass of my torso released forward and out
to the sides hinging from my spine kind of like a book opening with my spine as
the binding. My buttocks and hip turned outward some as well. I encountered a
few more stages of this over following weeks. I became aware of more of those
tingly webs I talked about. I started sensing more things within me, muscles
and stretchy cords that needed to be pumped out, Muscles that seemed to have
turned to a solid that needed to be broken loose, broken up and worked up. I
started sensing twists in my body that previously I was completely unaware of,
most notable an inward spiral twist through my upper and lower right quadrants
and to a lesser degree in my lower left quadrant.
Sept 2010
Spent this month working up, pulling out and stretching all I’ve talked about
so far. More and more muscles are moving all the time in all four quadrants of
my body. They seem to go through multiple stages as they return. I get the
sense my body is folding open from the spine in stages as well. Much of the
muscle within me has became pliable. I have made progress removing the twists
in my body but am unable to keep them out permanently yet. At this point I’m
still finding there is always something new needing work on top of what already
needs it. Functionally I am starting to notice improvement and expect much
more with time if I get all the new muscles I am now aware of worked up and the
twists I encounter pulled out permanently bringing back joints alignment. Right
now a lot of areas on my body that had felt hard all these years feels soft but
I am aware of hard spots within me that generally turn out to be muscle that is
not active yet.
Beginning Oct 2010
In some movements I’m still encountering restricting cords and membranes that
muscles can work and stretch but are unable to completely pull out yet. Much
of the muscle movement throughout me feels like soft thick moving gel. I
continue to work at pulling the spiral twists out of each side of my body.
Standing my legs feel much solider under me however there is a lot of changes
happening through my mid section and buttocks so it may be awhile till my
walking improves. The twist in my right shoulder is pretty stubborn so it could
be awhile till I can get the two arm motions I am after most.
