Hello, I just received my third assistance dog about two months ago. My first two dogs were German shepherds but the local organization no longer use German shepherds. German shepherds seem to be just a little too smart and know how to get out of not doing what they're told to do. Ellie Mae, is a 60 pound black lab, two years old on October 11, and cuter than a button. If I don't take her along with me the girls in the store are mad at me. They want to see their baby! Ellie will also be visiting nursing homes to help the residents take off their socks. While she was in her puppy home the trainer took her to visit someone each week. While in the nursing home Ellie was intrigued when a resident wiggle their toes and played with her. She now very gently pulls on the sock until she can get a good grip and off comes the sock.
