Radio Shack has so many devices for non verbal communication. I'd check
them out 1st.

maybe a flashing light instead of a noise maker?

Hi Quadius,
Have your father put his cell phone on vibrate and keep it on him if
possible. If your parents cell phone network is tied up at times, they may
want
to consider other providers as this should not be the case in this day and
age unless you live in an area with very poor coverage.
You can also do a Google search on "baby monitors for deaf parents" to see
a number of devices that use sound, lights or vibrators. The vibrators can
be clipped on clothing or worn around the waist.
Hope this helps.

I would love to have some information and feedback from you guys/gals. I
am able to get someone into my room, if there someone home, by using my ECU
to activate a chime in another room.

My mother is suffering from stage IV lung/liver cancer and has grown
extremely weak. In fact she has managed to lose her voice over the last
couple
of weeks and she's having difficulty getting my father's attention whenever
she needs some assistance. To further complicate matters by father is
hard of hearing. She has been using a phone to call a cell phone, but
sometimes the networks are tied up or the thing doesn't work properly.

Does anyone have some ideas on something relatively inexpensive that I can
install to help out. Oh yeah, like many elderly people my parents no
longer sleep in the same room and my father is almost on the other side of the
house.

Thanks. I really appreciate your ideas.
Quadius
