Your comments on the situation were very empathetic and thoughtful. I hope the comments get to him. Is there someone on the list that has been injured since childhood. I have a trach and take breathing treatments and I was on a ventilator three months. It was very confining, especially if you did not have transportation for someone to take you anywhere. I wonder if he has a computer. I couldn't live without my computer!
I wonder what resources he has and what the state provides to him to help his life not be so miserable. I saw the movie they were referring to, he was able to get out of occasionally with his ex-wife and child if I am remembering correctly. He lived in a very confining room I believe. If the movie was portrayed his actual life. Finances and insurance make one's life a lot easier. What does the list think about assisted suicide? He feels he has no friends. If we comment on this story, do you think the messages might get through to Dan?
