I have had two very serious episodes of AD that resulted in ambulance rides. 
The sad and scary part was that nobody at the hospital knew anything about it. 
My bp was 180/120 and all they did was keep me for observation for about 5 hrs. 
until I calmed down. I truly thought I was going to die. We never found a 
direct cause, but our best guess is impacted bowel --  10 lbs. of poop in a 5

I didn't know we could survive 45 minutes of that! I've been in A.D. from 
plugged foleys and I felt like I was going to stroke out any minute from the 
headache. Once we put on a new leg bag on that did not have a slit in it for 
the urine to drain. We always check them now...even Bard products can 
malfunction :-) I'm one of the lucky ones who has a caregiver 24/7. When those 
moments arise you REALLY APPRECIATE him/her!!!
