Hi Ismael, I opted for an early disability retirement a few years ago, but prior to that I worked full time for the federal government for 17 years in information technology (IT) related positions including database application developer, IT security compliance specialist, and IT project manager. IT related careers often pay well can be ideal for those with disabilities as computers and communication via the Internet, e-mail, and phone is essentially fully accessible via adaptive hardware and software, and many IT related jobs can be done through telecommuting which can be a huge benefit if mobility and transportation is an issue. Training and/or formal education through college or technical school and certifications will increase your eligibility for available positions, and be willing to do internships (paid or otherwise) to gain knowledge, experience, and demonstrate that you can do the work and fit in with the rest of the staff and work environment.
Good luck in your quest for work! I would like to ask the list a question. Those of you who are working...What kind of work do you do? Thank you.
