I have driven Permobil's with both easy lock and Permobil lockdowns. There is a new smaller lockdown from Permobil. Check out their website to see if your model chair can use the new lockdown. Also, Permobil uses pins that recess automatically up into the chair preserving the clearance of the chair at 3 1/2 inches. The fit might be tight but I have never experienced any rearing up. I drive a full size van from an Invacare Storm series wheelchair. I've had issues with this setup. I am looking at getting a minivan and a Permobil possibly.
