Greetings, 

Regarding control of your TV/DVD, etc.

The free program Sue Center also uses a USB-UIRT to control any infrared device.
It is very configurable.   It takes some doing but in the end
you have a very customized remote (or remotes).

I'm happy to help with any configuration issues.

Sue Center is operated by built-in "dwell-clicking" or pausing
so there is no need to issue a real click.   The user only has
to be able to control the cursor in two dimensions - typically with
device like a SmartNav.
