Hi Debbie, For 5 yrs. I flushed w/Renacidin for 20 min. each day. I changed it 1/mo. Now the sediment clogs it after a week regardless of the daily flush. So now, I change 1/wk. I now drink 100 oz. of water a day...it helps.

Typically, I don't have problems and I change it about every month. Lately, my catheter has been getting blocked about every two weeks or more often with sludge and my husband has to put a new one in. I have irrigated it with normal saline. Is there a better solution I should use to help with the sludge? I've heard of vinegar, but I'm not sure if it is safe or what ratio to dilute it.
