I, too, type with a pencil in my right hand.  I use the bony protrusion on
my wrist to move the mouse. (If you bend your hand back, it's the bony part
that is on the downward side.)  This allows me to hold the pencil AND move
the mouse without removing the pencil.  Oh, I only use touchpad's such as
this:
