Sorry to read about your Kyles infections and the need for a Supra Pubic procedure. Perhaps in the long run the SP will work to Kyles advantage and reduce infections. Using the Texas (condom) cath is probably the reason for his infections as they generally are used by a few with feeling and sensation in the bladder. Even with a SP, sanitation is very important and that the bladder empty completely. The SP is an indwelling device and I hope the doctor and nurse teach YOU how it works, how it is cleared and clean and what to do in the event it stops working.
