Do you ever panic when you can't find your phone or iPad?
Does your phone data usage dramatically exceed your calling minutes?
Can you no longer remember how to navigate from a paper map?
If you answered yes to any of the above, you may be an "App Addict" and I have
just what you need... 2011 Reeve Foundation's Apps for Individuals Living with
Paralysis Guide.
You'll find brief reviews of great apps in seven categories:
Assistive TechnologyGames & EntertainmentMedicalProductivityTravelHealth &
FitnessFor Kids
And just for good measure, helpful iPhone, Android, Blackberry and iPad
adaptive accessories.
Smartphones, iPads, and their apps continue to help many people in the
paralysis community increase their independence and enhance their lives in all
sorts of ways.
For instance, there is an app to keep you hydrated – Waterlogged – and one to
help you find convenient public transportation in any city – MetrO.
Dragon Dictation will let you dictate and send texts and emails to friends and
family. ICE4family will let you create detailed messages for Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) should you ever need them.
Each app review includes a description of the app, a photo, the cost, and where
to find it.
Don't see your favorite app listed in our Guide? Tell us what you like and why
and we might add your favorite to the Reeve Foundation Guide.
Also, please be sure and share the Guide with your friends.
