Hi List Readers

Well I'm home from my 8 day holiday to Southern California, and it was
awesome.

But first I'd like to thank Don P for his recent post from the Reeve
Foundation.

I've been wondering about getting an iPhone or ipad and their website is
full of relevant info about their use by us.

But my trip, we flew Air New Zealand who are great, couldn't have been any
better really nice people eager to help.

As I'm a c4/5 I used an 'eagle-lift' to get in and out of my aircraft seat,
at LAX they told me I was only the 2nd person to use their' s.

Basically it's a sling type electric hoist, I stayed in my power chair to
the aircraft door.

They then put sling under you, hoist you up and wheel you with the eagle to
your seat (first on).

The eagle then sort of straddles your seat (1 leg being your seat, other in
front) then you are lowered to your seat.

The sling removed and that's it, I did sit on my roho for the 12 hour
flight
also.

Then :-

Accessible super shuttle from lax to desert palms, Anaheim where we stayed,
taxi and hotel not too dear & ok for accessibility.

First night, bubba Gump scrimp co. restaurant, good value & food, even had
lieutenant Dan wheeling around !

Next day Disneyland, great experience, ya gotta do it, went on a few rides
&
the monorail.

Next day had a rental kneeling Dodge van delivered from Mobilityworks,
great
van, people and service.

This we drove to universal studios and did the train tour there, was fun.

Next day Getty Centre, WOW, man you have to go there before y'all die, its
freakin fantastic. Land, carpark, tramway, gardens, building, art, the
whole
think blew my mind, even hit me on an emotional level. GO THERE !

Next day, shopping at the Citadel, great place, 142 shops, everything
there,
cheap as, better than duty free. Got levis and skeechers that fitted my big
frame $40 each. Did rain however but still great.

Last couple of days, at Disney and looking around Anaheim.

Then back to lax and home again.

Thanks to the US of A, and you folks here for your pointers.

You made my trip much, much better than it would have been.

Best
