I've only done it a couple of times, it gives me chills when doing it, is that

  If you are worried, you can buy sterile water from medical supply stores 
  and etc.  On more rare occasions when I think bacteria is really building 
  up My wife will flush with ( acetic acid ) --- which is just  Vinegar mix 
  ...... Some quads mix this at home, like eric said= = vinegar and water  
  ( not sure but I think it's the white vinegar ???  correct Eric
