Unfortunately I have been experiencing this more often than I would like to
admit lately. Did you check your BP to make sure it was your blood
pressure going up?

I can usually tell the difference between AD and regular headaches, but
lately my headaches have been so bad it has been difficult to discern which
is which. I am going to try to go in and see the doctor again shortly
about this problem. I believe mine are caused by some sort of terrible
sinus issue I'm now dealing with.

Oh yeah, if you're positive it is AD, Make sure you check your skin
thoroughly to determine if you have some sort of an infection or sore
causing the problem. You can also have someone turn you from side to side
just in case something in your bowels is causing some difficulties. All of
this in combination with some deep breathing exercises have helped
occasionally in the past.

I have had my blood pressure go up and cause me some headaches without me
being able to figure out what they were from, but they usually transpired
in the morning and I was able to alleviate them by eating some food and
then getting into my wheelchair. Then my BP would bottom out. This
happens more often than I would like also.

Good luck I hope you're able to figure this out.
