Permanent nail removal usually requires a chemical to prevent it from growing back. It doesn't always work, but I have had a partial permanent removal done on my right big toe before I was wheelchair bound. Later I had my left big toe nail removed using the same procedure, but part of the nail continues to grow back and it is ugly as hell, but it's not in-grown. Quadius
