Hi Ben,
I've read all 3-4 copies of the New Life in Action since it came
out last summer and I love the magazine, plus all the great articles.

Shower/commode chairs is a difficult subject, because what was good just
5-10 years ago, may not be available today and finding repair parts is even
more difficult. Many of the new products are so expensive and don't seem to
work/feel as well. What might work well for a low Quad, may not work well
with a high Quad. Chair support and comfort are both operative words and
for some.... portability is as important. As a commode, some bowel programs
may take more then 30 minutes and if the material is not right, it could
be dangerous for its user. Lastly will replacement parts be available 5-10
years?

Best Wishes

I know I've asked this before, but this time it's for real. Here goes:
For a "Life In Action" magazine story about commode/shower/tub
wheelchairs, I'm looking for chair-users' comments about various brands and
features.
Comments of any length are welcome. A list of questions follows. Please
respond to me directly (not to the whole list) before Sunday, March 25.
Best,

1. What type of commode/shower/tub chair do you use?
2. What do you like/dislike about it?
3. When shopping for a commode/shower/tub chair, what features are
most important to you? (Being able to self-propel, portability, comfort,
rolling ease, durability, size, breaking/locking, easy cleaning, etc.)
4. What would you like to see done differently in the manufacture
and servicing of commode/shower chairs, if anything? (If, say, you could
design your own…)
5. What warnings or other advice would you give someone new to
commode/shower chairs, perhaps someone shopping for one for the first time?
6. What is your FIRST name, and in what CITY do you live?
That's all! Any other thoughts you have to add would be most welcome.
And please share this with others who might be good sources of relevant
wisdom!
