Bev, I know bladder function is very much an individual thing. For the first 30 
years of quad life, I used a condom cath. My bladder would empty itself when it 
became full. Then about 10 years ago, it simply stopped. I still have no idea 
why. Since then I have cathed twice a day. One doc said it was probably caused 
by long term use of pain meds and ditrop an. I fear cathing every hour as you 
say could do damage to Steven's bladder. Good luck and God bless.
