I had a Hill-Rom for a couple of weeks about five years ago. The "mattress" 
contained fine sand  that circulated inside when it was inflated. When you 
turned the fan off, the mattress was hard as a rock. If you were lying in it 
and the electric went off, a hasty transfer was required. And that was the 
hardest part -- transferring. The mattress lay in a big heavy box with a frame 
that was almost impossible to climb over. It was a bit like climbing out of a 
casket. I had it for several days, then asked them to take it back. I just 
could not handle it.
