OK, so I went to my very first wheelchair clinic. I talked to a
PT and rep from supplier at Kessler for 1 1/2 hours (I had to pay $125 out of
pocket). They measured me every which way, asked me "What don't you like about
the chair your in now"? Asked me about my living quarters, do I drive, work,
how many hours do I spend in the chair, where is my pain and how bad is it?
Tested my ROM and strength on each side. Asked about pressure sores ANC whole
bunch more questions. They explained that the next time I go, I'll be there for
2 solid hours+ test driving 2 different chairs and doing pressure mapping.
Overall I was very impressed and satisfied. The appointment was much shorter
because I had done my homework and wrote don all my needs and wants. OH yea,
they had m fill out 6 page questioner ahead of time about medications,
insurance, live alone or not, house or apartment, recreational activities ANC a
whole bunch more.
