Over many years I struggled with very bad posture. I leaned very far to
the right and at times found it to be very uncomfortable. The biggest issue
I had was while driving and making a left turn. This would cause me to
lean even farther.

I took a plastic lateral from an old wheelchair that I had salvaged.

I took off the metal piece and placed the plastic piece in the corner of
the chair, which helped to hold me somewhat straighter, making quite a
difference in comfort and when I drive.

I also had an issue where my left hip would migrate against the side of the
chair. I placed a foam cushion on the left side of my chair before seating
and it helps to hold me somewhat straighter.

Each body and situation are different and what works for one person may not
work for another. Age and gravity are taking its toll, sometimes you just
need to give it a gentle nudge the other way.

Good luck,

Glenn

I also lean to the left, because of a broken hip could not have surgery on
because of osteoporosis.
What is the solution to remain straight. My caregivers put a towel to the
right of my left side pad. What are some other ideas other quad list members
 have tried.

hi Larry, I lean to, the last 2 yrs it has affected my driving as well. It

seems to be the norm for us. they say it is scoliosis. I am having an
x-ray
to see if that's true, I will let you know.
Best,

Subject: [QUAD-L] Question

Hey guys. For the last year I have noticed that I am leaning to the left.
In
the past month it has got worse. Now I have to physically hold myself
upright or I go tumbling leftward. As you might expect, it is really
affecting my ability to drive, or to do anything for that matter. Anyone
have an idea what the cause might be? I sleep on my left side as well.
Thanks.
