Please check blood pressures for Autonomic Dysrelexia during periods of sweating, even if no other symptoms. There is a condition called "Silent Autonomic Dysreflexia" when no symptoms occur. Although, sweating would be a symptom and therefore not true "silent". When I was a SCI fellow at Kessler we did a study on silent AD during bowel programs. We took blood pressure the entire time during the bowel program. We were surprised how many people had silent autonomic dysreflexia during bowel programs. So, we identified that it happened and was not rare. We did not conclude what to do. Questions remained: Does this need to be pretreated before the program?
Here is a link to the study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12474185 Hope this helps.
